I've settled down in Maryland, just outside of Baltimore and north of Washington, DC.
I'm retired Air Force and that's how I spent 7 years in Germany.
Danke Shoen for asking. Auf Weidersein... Choes.
See, Mein Deutsch ist nicht gut, like abuzavi.

Yes, but between Munchen and Leimen is perfect roads. You can go very fast on these roads -- I know, because I have! To drive here would only take you 30 minutes!

(And Mini Mania 2007 sounds wonderful)

Yes, Welcome to NAM!
Always glad to have another "international" person on board. I spent three years in the army in Frankfort and Darmstadt. That was a long time ago. I'm sure I wouldn't know the place. I do remember the autobahn,
who could forget. We drove little cars very fast then, foolish kids that we were!
Those were the days, my friend!
Enjoy the experience!

Welcome to the board from a fellow German (now living in the US) !
I just recently joined, the board as well as the MINI community.
The guys on here are great, I'm sure you will make lots of new friends very fast
And enjoy the short distances you have in Europe, you won't believe how much I miss to dart over to France for Flammkuchen or Switzerland for a cup of coffee in Zurich

Even the autobahns have speed limits when they pass through cities. It's generally around 130 kph, but it's still a speed limit.
I had two near-death experiences on the autoban, both in 1984 while driving my 300ZX. Once, the front end started to lift up at around 210 kph. Almost went airborn, end over end. The other time, a truck pulled out in the left lane about a half mile in front of me and I had to go from super cruising speed to only about 80 kph. Got her slowed just in time.
Fun stuff, but if you have an accident on the autobahn, especially back then before air bags, you probably don't survive it.
So be careful when scooting down the autobahn in those two fun machines you have, mein friend.
@chiliRed&pepperWhite: Oh.. my god.. that is a terrible history...
...i understand you.. good...
I hoooope, i have never a car accident.......!!
