Hello from Mobile

Hello to all from Mobile, Alabama. I'm looking to downsize from my Honda Element (a vehicle with its own virtues), and I think I've reached the point in my life at which I need a Cooper in British Racing Green with white bonnet stripes. (We need a salivating smilie.)

I'm probably a month or so away from ordering. One concern is that the nearest dealership is three hours away in Baton Rouge. Anyone have tips on long-distance relationships with dealers, or this dealer in particular?

Thanks to all. Love this site.

John

I haven't been to that particular dealership but I currently travel about 4-5 hours from Lubbock, Tx to Arlington, TX but I've only had to do it 2 or 3 times in the 2 years I've owned it so it wasn't that bad. I'll be moving to Enterprise in about 2 weeks and probably taking my car to Atlanta. Good motoring

John, welcome to NAM. A BRG with white stripes sounds delightful. The Honda Element will fade from your mind when you get your MINI.

Order soon and post some pictures when you get it.

Btw, I guess I will not grumble when I drive 44 miles to my MINI dealer, a lot of folks have it much worse.

Welcome again.

Hi from So Cal - Welcome to MINI land Lots of MINI peeps here have long distant relationships with their dealers. Can't wait to see you post that you've ordered and are waiting for delivery...

Make sure they give loaners when you bring it in.I'm only 35 miles from my dealer took me an hour and a half through morning traffic to get repairs.

Hello from the other end of the state, John. I'm in Huntsville which is 100 miles from my dealership in Nashville. Sometimes appointments can be a headache but the car is worth it for the most part.

Fortunately I had great service once at the Baton Rouge MINI so I would have to say your in good hands. My 03 MCS broke down during Mardi Gras of 04 while I was in Biloxi. MINIUSA shipped the car to them on Monday and I got over there to pick it up on Wednesday in time to be back to work Thursdays.
