does anybody know how to find out the engine temperature? how do u know when the engine is warmed enough to drive?
I used to have automatic for years which had temp gauge on dashboard but with mini i don't see one.
thanks in advance.
You don't have to wait for the engine to warm up. In fact, they recommend that you don't. Just wait a few seconds after starting for it to idle smoothly.

You definitely want to let the engine warm up before you start romping on it. Your engine will most definitely last longer if you let all the fluids get to normal operating temperature, I gaurantee it. This is particularly true for forced induction cars. If the car I'm in doesn't have a gauge I wait 5 minutes if idling or 1 minute if it's under a light load.
