1st mini -- is this true?

Just bought a '06 MCS w/ 2500 miles on it. I love the car in every way, except for what seems to me as excessive braking noise at very low speeds (parking, bumper to bumper LA traffic). I took the car in to have it looked at. The service advisor told be that the "growl" in the brakes at low speeds is normal. He also more or less insulted me by saying my driving style was most likely part of the problem. Can anyone tell me if, in fact, this noise is normal? And if it is, is there any way to get rid of it?

I have about 4800 miles on my 06 and I hear a noise on occassion but not all the time. It is usually when I am moving slow in and out of the garage or something. I had it checked and was told there are no problems. Think I have just gotten used to it now. Hopefully the rest of your motoring experiences are as great as mine have been! Happy Motoring!

Hey- Thanks for the quick response. Noise is happening mostly when inching in & out of tight garage space. Guess I will stop worrying about it.

Yeah and mine usually does it when it has been sitting in the garage for a while as it only gets driven when I am home. I travel alot which explains the low miles for having her over a year now.

Try changing brake pad types. Semi-metalics can growl like your dragging a bathtub behind you. Ceramics are quiet, plus they leave less dust showing.
