Just joined the MINI family W/ '03 MCS

Bought an '03 MCS last week. It's Indi Blue and has some nice options.
It has some bugs that need to be worked out:
Power steering is intermittent (fan locked up due to rust). Don't know if pump is defective yet but a replacement is on the way just in case.
Gas gauge intermittently reads empty when I know it has gas in the tank. I haven't tried to find the problem with that yet.

The car is an absolute blast to drive. I feel like I'm driving an overpowered rollerskate.
I'm new to the Mini community but have been a member of several forums and car clubs over the years. I live in the Portland, OR area and am looking forward to learning more about these cars and possibly meeting other owners.

Welcome to NAM. I had a Mercedes that it's gas tank read full when it wasn't...the flip side of your problem. If you can't have it fixed right away, just fill her up and put the trip counter to zero, fill it up at around 100 miles later and figure the gas mileage out according to the tank capacity. That way at every fill up, you'll have an idea of how much is actually in your tank. At least you won't get caught out on a dark and dreary night without gas in your MINI. Good luck!
