OBD2 Drive Cycle Parameters
OBD2 Drive Cycle Parameters
Please, Please will someone tell me what the "drive cycle" parameters are for a Mini Cooper (2002 Cdn Launch Edn) after clearing a fault light? I have an Innova 3030 code reader and would like to use it as a preventative maintenance tool, but need to know how the car should be driven to cover all of the measured criteria.

Paul,
-start engine, idle cold~2 min. 10 sec. -Evap leak detection is evaluated
-accelerate to 20-30 MPH. Maintain steady speed for 3 min.15 sec. - Establish closed loop operation- o2 sensor responce timeand switching time is monitored
-accelerate to 40-60 MPH, maintain steady speed for 15 min. - catalytic converter efficiency is evaluated.
-come to stop, idle for 5 min. - tank leakage is evaluated.
Don't expect to be able to accomplish all of this in 1 trip. I hope this helps

Does anybody know whether you can read readiness state with a Carly Adapter and App? Also, Once you have passed one check is it necessary to do all of the steps that Grassroots Garage mentioned or can they be done over time. In other words will a pass stick in the Memory? If you idle in the car to check evap leak detection and you pass, does the module save this info so you only have to clear the other 3 checks?
Monitors and Car Memory
Bowmankelley:
Did you get an answer to your question for Grassroots Garage? The one about the car's computer remembering that monitors have passed? And whether you need to clear all four in one trip or if you can get them to pass over several trips?
Grassroots Garage looks to have been banned. Did you get an answer or find out somewhere else?
Thanks in advance.
