Need help with rear brake Caliper tool
I am shopping for a rear brake caliper tool. the one that will screw my piston back into caliper. Does anyone know the size of the disc that would be used on the hand drive. I'm trying to save a couple of bucks and considering purchasing a kit on ebay for around 20.00 they come with 10-12 discs but not sure if anyone of they will fit. Would appreciate any help, thanks

I have a small cube that I bought from Car Quest. Each side of the cube has a square hole for a 3/8" extension and either 2 or 4 pegs. Once you figure out which side has the proper pegs to engage the face of the piston, you push and spin on the ratchet to turn it.
I also figured out it is easier for me to remove the rotor and bolt the caliper back on the hub. Sometimes it takes a decent amount of force to help retract the system.
Have fun,
Mike

It can be done with a needle nose and a simple wood clamp. You remove the cup from the wood clamp portion that turns so that it fits in the hole/depression of the caliper plunger. Arrange the plunger so that you have the holes at 12, 3, 6 and 9. Put the clamp into the # 9 hole/depression, tighten just a little and then use the needle nose in 12 and 6 to turn clockwise. Repeat process until the plunger is retracted.
Yes is is a PIA but it will do the job.
