SNAKE in My Wheel
There was a snake entangled in my wheel. It decided to hide there while I was parked in the street. Lucky for the snake my kid noticed before i drove off and made a mess. I like the photo of the snake looking out back at me from inside the wheel.
I set it free after it took a swipe at me - video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkKePXHVcLc

Wow...
In my neighborhood, that video would have been about 10 seconds long and would have involved the violent use of the business end of that shovel.
Which I know is not the eco-friendly approach.
But me and snakes do not get along.
But kudos for your self control, and for making a science lesson out of it for the kids.

I would have to bet gopher snake. They are very common in our area (I live just down the road) and are great for best control. No reason to kill a snake. On the golf course a couple miles from were this snake was we see rattle snakes all the time. They like to sun on the T boxes. I had to use my driver once to move one so we could T off. No, I didn't hurt him nor would I.
