Where Is The Neutral Safety Switch???
i have a 2005 mini cooper s automatic.
it's stuck at work because it will not start. the battery is strong, that i know for sure. its been pretty good at starting but during some days it will not start, but i am able to by putting the gear in P, shaking it, then moving it down to N, then it starts. i've done that method a few times but now this time it will not work. i'm pretty sure it's the neutral safety switch or something is lose within the starter unabling it to start.
but i would definately like to know where the neutral safety switch is so i can maybe adjust it so i can at least get the car running so i can bring it to the dealer.
any help will definately do!!!
THANKS!!!!!!

Sounds like CRoth is saying it's in the engine bay.
Not sure, but it may be part number 1 (position switch) here:
