R56 Anyone use AutoEnginuity Software to Re-calibrate the Steering Angle Sensor?

Anyone use AutoEnginuity Software to Re-calibrate the Steering Angle Sensor?
I bought version 13, the latest version, with the Mini enhanced interface. I am trying to get use the steering wheel calibration function but I get an error as noted in the screen shot below.
Anyone used AE 13 to recalibrate the steering wheel angle?
I dropped the subframe to put in all new ball joints, complete tie rods ends, new struts, blah blah blah and upon startup I have the solid DSC light and BRAKE light, the turn signals wont turn off automatically and wipers stay on after engine is turned off.
Unless I have had bad luck and the steering angle sensor took a dump at exactly the same time I did all this other work, Im hoping recalibrating the angle will suffice.
Anyone use AE to do this?

Hey thanks for responding Minivinnie. Its not the ABS sensors. I never even touched those and thats not the error code Im getting.
I'm getting:
DSC faults: Steering Sensor, Adjustment Error (5E34) and DSC Interface: SZL/LWS Signal Error (5DFB)
Steering Column Module (SZL): 9E28 Control Unit - Internal Fault
Electric Power Steering (EPS): 6111 EPS Steering Wheel Angle
Enhanced Powertrain CAN: Unknown codes 2783,2777, 277F, 2773
Anyone know if the 9E28 Control Unit Internal Fault necessarily means the steering angle sensor is deadskies?

Hahahah another SZL failure. Please look at my thread. Is the same as yours. It means that stealship will want from you 600 USD, but you can order just the optical element. I am still waiting for my optical element to arrive to my home and to change it. I will post results on my thread.

I sure did. Actually I was working on a/this Mini for first time and I didn't drop the rack with the subframe (mistake I suppose) and it stayed connected along with the tie rod assemblies.
Yes I should have reached up and simply disconnected the 3 connectors. I curse myself. ... so, the connectors unconnected themselves just from the tension on the wires. Yes, the tabs on the connectors broke, but the connectors themselves look to be ok.
Of course my first concern is whether I stretched or snapped a wire inside one of the connectors. etc. I have taken apart connectors on harnesses on other cars, so if I need to I can do so.
Nonetheless, I did swap out the tie rod assemblies, and inner and outer ball joints, so the alignment was so very far out that I had it towed the 6 miles to the alignment shop rather than grind the new front tires down the road. (Yes I measured new to old assembly length...blah bah blah).
So my next step is to assume the connectors are ok and assume the rack simply needs to be calibrated. If that doesnt work, I need to check for continuity on those wires.
I did check the fuses and they were in tact.

1. I dont go to the stealership. 2. $600? The part is <$200.
How do you know its the optical eye that is the cause of the SZL error?

The part is 200-400, but you still need to program the car to make the change.
The error 9E28 means internal error, the other 2 error are as result of DSC and EPS does not get sensor angle from SZL. In my thread there is a link to chinese site. Use google translate. And i have working on this subject for around 3 month. I have cleaned the SZL few times and i have read on internet about SZL more than 50 threads.

I'm not saying erjon is wrong in anyway but I would call up your alignment shop and ask if they can properly recalibrate the sensor they need to reset the memory than enter test mode from my experience ( as a tech ) I always recalibrate while still on the rack because it is level and I can use the alignment machine to make sure steering wheel is level I have had similar codes from not properly resetting the sensor also maybe worth a shot but on Toyota and Lexus to u can reset memory by disconnecting battery for awhile maybe worth a shot?

The culpit in total is the SZL with error 9E28. the other 2 errors are indirectly related to the first one. If you see my thread you will understand. I have opened the SZl and the disc is metalic and cleaning will not help. Also the led have light, so the only thing left is the optical module. Please see the other thread for cleaning the optical disc. But in our Mini it will not help cause this Valeo SZL use metalic disc and not optical disc. Please read carrefully my thread. In the end of it there is this link:

this is a recall for BMW, but for our minis the repair kit is from my thread.
As soon as you have error 9E28, 6111 and 5DFB, you have a failed SZL. In ista/d and inpa you will see the angle sensor is -1440,15 degree.
I cannot explain anymore why i think you have the optical element. I have ordered mine 1 month ago. You can wait till i install it and will see the results.

That's what I thought. 3 parts re-sellers couldn't find the part #. I checked the shaft to the joint and found no other sensor. Do you have a part # handy?
Oh and get this, so after I carefully take off the air bag and steering wheel and put it back together, the red AIRBAG failure lights are on, the horn doesnt work and the steering wheel stereo controls don't work. No fuses are blown. So I read something about a bad "slip ring" causing this is in the R53 model.
Lucky me.

when you disconnect the slip ring, you will get airbag error, but the horn should work. You can use software to remove airbag error. I can find the part number for you, if you can send by PM your last 7 digits of you VIN. I can find it on ETK. The part is called "steering column switch cluster".

What is the SLIP RING exactly?
Switch cluster as in what I posted above? ...The cluster with the stalks on it?
ok fine so I will clear the airbag error but why the hell would the horn and steering wheel controls stop working? I didnt break or stretch anything. I just disconnected and reconnected. Fuses arent blown. I had the battery disconnected every time I removed and reconnected the airbag, as a precaution.
Very fickle these Mini's.
