How many miles do you have on your R56?

My 07 MCS is creeping up on 100,000 miles. I Just want to see how many R56's out there with High Mileage?

Along with the mileage, a description of what you did to it (MODS) and what was needed fixing over the years.

Highest mileage with fewer problems gets a few of these

also added pictures would be nice.

Very interested to hear about cars with 100k + miles.

My 2012 MCS arrived late March 2012. 53,000 miles so far.

o Temp sensor replaced under a recall
o High pressure fuel pump replaced at 49k (threw a code, didn't fail)

Brake pads F&R, set of tires, etc. the usual consumables.

The unusual suspects - heat exchanger, throttle body

Only mod is the auto sport mod. Hardwired sat radio and gps.

2008 S, about 131K miles. I've had all the well known issues (timing chain, turbo oil line, HPFP, etc., etc.) But she's running well. Change that oil, kids!

I have 54k miles on my 2007 MCS running strong, timing chain cassette, thermostat housing, valve cover and throwout bearing replaced. The clutch still had life left but I would have been an idiot not to replace clutch parts after having the transmission removed from the engine. I haven't had any problems with the HPFP, water pump and the turbo oil line.

85,000 Miles. Ive only had to replace a few things such as : Clutch, Engine. Before the new engine, i replaced the water pump, thermostat, valve cover, had the head resurfaced. So yeah not problem free, but i never gave up on her and since i dropped the new power plant in she has been a dream.

2007 MCS
63,9xx miles

I've had it since 9/9/13 with 53,02x miles on it.
Oil changes done every 5,000 miles

- Had carbon cleaning done at 53,xxx miles in 10/13
- Replaced mechanical water pump in 5/14

Other than that, she purrs like a kitten and drives like a tiger.

Given the various engine troubles I suspect they are more rare than they should be. My engine ate itself at 70,000

2007 MCS 90300 miles

I've had it since 2010 and got it with 29k.

Oil pump failed at 35k, part of the engine had to be rebuilt .
Had to replace water pump at 70k
Hood latch cable broke at 75k
A/c stopped working at 90k. Not sure what the problem is yet ,but I did notice the panel by the gas pedal getting hot recently.
Is there any preventative maintenance I should do besides the normal oil changes and stuff?

A new engine, I think that's more than a few things. If you had to get the head resurfaced than your engine overheated causing damage.

First time I have heard of a MCS oil pump failure, probably rare. How funny, have a look at my thread I started here. That plastic penal gets Hot!

It's the heater core and the two pipes getting 226*F or equal to the coolant temperature. It's supposed to get hot only when you turn on the heater when it's cold outside and when not using the heater it's supposed to have a valve which blocks the coolant from entering the heater core.

Had my timing cassette replaced in January under the service bulletin/recall at 114K. Had carbon blasting done at independent shop a week later. While it was disassembled for the blasting my technician pointed out a slight leak from the T-stat, but said it wasn't bad yet. Drove like that for another six months (including MOTD).

During this time I started to procure parts for some preemptive/preventative maintenance. On 7/15 I had the following work done.

Replaced water pump (OEM)
replaced thermostat (OEM)
replaced turbo oil feed & return lines (Detroit Tuned)
replaced seals in heat exchanger (DT)
replaced accessory drive belt (OEM)
replaced spark plugs (NGK)
Changed oil and filter (Mobil1/OEM)

While waiting for the motor to cool down to perform the above work he installed my new Eibach 20mm rear sway bar and a new (to me) sport suspension. The shocks, struts, and springs came from a JCW with only 7K miles when they were yanked to install coil overs.

The parts I replaced were functioning properly except for the T-stat, but I figured they would need replacing soon and I might as well do it all at one time. My technician did all the work in 10 hours. Cost for me was <2K for parts and labor (JCW shocks and springs were a gift from a friend). I have no idea what this would have cost at a dealer, but I'm sure it would have been considerably more than I spent.

Oh yeah, like my signature says... 122K+ miles.

'07 MCS with 141k miles. Didn't do break-in oil service but did 10k instead of the 20k MINI called for.

Had timing chain issue and needed new short block at 62k. The engine never did really feel at full power even after the new short block, and check engine lights have been coming on intermittently over the last 10k miles.

A new O2 sensor brought the car back up to speed for a few days but then the car became sluggish again. Car's been back to the dealer since last Friday (that's 4 full weekdays) and they still haven't figured out what's wrong. It seems to be a "functioning malfunction", as another MINI dealer and 2 independent BMW/MINI specialist shops haven't been able to figure out what's wrong.

Despite its f-ed up front, I'm kinda falling in love with the Gen 3 (auto transmission!) S loaner I've got...

08 MCS with 54k miles. Timing chain was replaced around 28k, previous owner had it done pre-emptively seems like. Thermostat also replaced under service bulletin. Replaced rotors and pads, new spark plugs at 39k when I bought it, installed JCW Exhaust and shift ****, that's about it. I average about 5k miles between oil changes with Mobil 1 0w40 European formula, but this coming oil change I bought castrol 0w40 cause walmart ran out of mobil 1.

Only major problem was leaky sunroof drain tube that caused mold and gave me mold allergies for 2 weeks. I took it to an independent dealer and it took a week for the replacement tube to come in.

Right now I think the sunroof alignment is out of spec, I get a lot of buffeting at moderate to highway speeds. Oddly enough opening and closing the sunroof attenuates the noise temporarily.

07 w/207,000 was running great till last Tuesday just sent it off on the flat bed suspect timing chain and ate a valve. Looks like no one rebuilds engines. I would guess it would have ran at least 200,000 more if I had replaced it.I do change every 5,000 w/full syn. Heartbroke and broke...

2011 MCS....74k miles. Had a DOS CAI for awhile...and have an alta rsb. Something in the radio was shorting out...had that replaced fairly early on....recently the DMTL pump was replaced and front/right wheel bearing...along with timing chain tensioner seal....also had a fouled spark plug....other than that just regular maintenance stuff. Had a check engine light for about a year that was caused by the "check gas cap" warning. That turned out to be the DMTL pump

Almost forgot....high pressure fuel pump in there somewhere as well.

07 MCS, 81527 miles on her. Besides recalls, only replaced the diverter valve and battery.

Not much modding has been done, audio channel swap, dip'd sunroof, shorty antenna, WIP LED light change out for all lights.
