Auto
28K
95% City (I deliver pizza for a living)
93 octane (BP or Sunoco)
Almost never use Sport
Average 24mpg
I have no idea how you guys get 30+. Im a very spirited driver but you all claim to be as well. I have a theory that the auto tranny holds gears too long which hurts mileage over the manual tranny where I would shift much shorter and save gas. In sport mode the car almost never shifts out of 3rd. That high RPM auto tranny makes it really fun when driving for enjoyment, but for everyday action I think it hurts the mileage. I regret getting an auto but that was one of my wife's stipulations for me getting a new car...

2009 MCCS 6MT, sport button never on, stop-n-go, city traffic....
Fuel consumption tracked in iPhone app (Gas Cubby)
34K miles, 95 fill ups
26.7 mpg to 32.8 mpg
average: 29.7
OBC normally shows about 2 mpg higher than actual.

@GitMoe
My guess is that a combination of Auto, S, and city/stop & go driving is why your MPG is low.
I based my MPG on what the OBC tells me.
Some people say the OBC calculation is optimistic and if you figure it manually your MPG will come out lower.
I prefer the optimistic reading.

I don't use the OBC - I calc. manually (Miles / Gallons ). The OBC does add a few MPG to make you feel good

36,000 miles and averaging 33 mpg using premium gas.
1/15/13 Update. 48,000 miles now and averaging 32 mpg now that the wife drives it and it is 90% in-town, short trips. I did take it last month on a 1500 mile trip and I averaged 38 mpg thru the hills of eastern PA.

2008 clubman s with jcw tuning kit
47,000 km (29,000 miles)
In winter my mileage drops to 11 liters per 100km. (about 20 mpg) pure city, short trips.
In the summer I get 8.0 liters per 100km(28 mpg) or better pure city, and under 7.0 on the highway (about 35 mpg). This is all based on the obc.
When my wife drives it I lose 4 or 5mpg as she always forgets to shift. She'll cruise in 3rd while I would be using 4th or 5th

2009 JCW Clubman
95% city / 5% highway
93 octane always
26 mpg
ALTA AP Tune
? mpg
I will be reinstalling the tune in a couple weeks and see what kind of mpg it averages after the change. The car was dynoed at 283 ft/lbs and 241 hp with the AP tune installed. Damn it's fun to drive with the kind of power

2008 Justa Clubman 6MT
58,000 km (36,000 mi)
75% hwy, 25% city
Hwy is mostly cruising with scattered stop and go traffic issues.
91 octane
stock except for flat underpanels from front axle to tail.
6.1 l/100km (38.5 mpg) on the last 3 fill-ups
boring as hell to achieve that, but I still play in the twisties.

I track my miles and fuel ups on www.fuelly.com
13k miles
Averaging 31.6 mph
Use 91 octane, we don't have 93 octane in SF Bay Area
I rarely use Sport or DSC-off modes
