R56 MCS grill removal

Does anyone have pictures of how to remove the front grill. I've heard it's fairly easy but I don't feel comfortable just yanking on things. Any hints or descriptions would be appreciated.

-Bonnet grill:
-Open bonnet
-remove 4 screws
-release handfull of tabs from the bonnet
-remove grill

lower grill:
-pull out 4 plastic snaps along top edge
-pull hard directly forward while holding the bottom edge of grill
reach behind and push in the plastic hinged looking tabs to allow them to fish through the holes in the bumper
-pull off.

For the bonnet grill it looks like plastic pop-ins are holding the top of the grill in, should I use a special tool or do something special to remove those. Just pulling hard seemed doomed to failure.

just push them back a little so the snaps release from the bonnet..they will all realease as you pull the grill and slowly release the tabs...(make sure the 4 screws are removed first.)

Thanks Karl, the pictures are very much appreciated. I won't be able to try it until the weekend. I may even look for a pry tool for those plastic rivits.

Is that an under-spoiler? Tell us about that.

gulp, um are those brackets only attached to the grill? Which is only held on by a few plastic snaps? Hella, is this for real? I would be very cautious of this setup....

Dan, You are very observant. I thought I could sneak that one by most of the NAM viewers, but I guess you caught me on that one . It's a Hamann Front Splitter designed for the R53. I was doing a trial fit and it looks like it can be easily adapted. I think it will help lower the visual appearance of the front. I am having it painted and I will post some photos when I get it installed. BTW: I also have the Hamann Rear Spoiler that I am working on adapting as well

Solid as a rock!

Thanks for the observations and concerns I was a little worried about that as well, but with the long metal brackets behind them they are solid as a rock with no apparent vibrations. The Hella 500's are extremely light in weight which helps out alot.

i have easily removed the top grill with these instructions, but i couldnt manage to remove the lower grill. i did whatever i can, i nearly spent 1 hour at the garage to figure it out but no way. i also noticed a plug on the left side at the back of the lower grill (maybe a temp sensor or sth. like that , looks like a tiny antenna)
pls help me out!

I think this might help

Go to the Alta website for the new R56 intercooler and click on the instructions. I think this will help. Good luck
