I was a Mobil 1 die hard for over 20 years until I found out that they quietly changed to a cheaper base stock YEARS ago in order to bring down the cost of Mobil 1. Go search the topic on Bobistheoilguy.com. They sued somebody for saying their dino based oil was "synthetic" instead of TRUE synthetic like Mobil 1 WAS. It was ruled that "synthetic" was a "marketing term" and had no specific meaning. SO, Mobil switched to using the dino based base stock to compete by price.
SO.....After over 20 years of using nothing in my vehicles except Mobil 1, I now have switched to Castrol and Pennzoil real honest to goodness no lying synthetic.
Of course, NOW the issue to learn about the Pennzoil that is made from a base stock that starts as natural gas to give a cleaner stock. Is that a good thing or not......The world is always changing.....

I actually am still in preference of amsoil zrod 10w30 - tons of zddp and the viscosity is actually between 10w30 and 0w40, best of all worlds. exclusively use it in the evo
