Now the facelift Clubman (and Cooper) is out, anyone think that we can retrofit the new LED taillight to the 08-10 Clubman (or Cooper)?

 

Before you get too excited about "LED taillights", consider that they are mostly not LED. The closeup photo clearly shows that the brake lights are standard bulbs in standard reflector housings (the backup light as well). The ring for the turn signal lens is clear (when unlit) which is evidence of LED. I don't know about the center element. It might be an LED running light, but LED offers no advantage in a running light (no need for instant on/off).

BTW, the R56 version is similar (also mostly not LED).

 

Now, it's officially out, do you think there are more info for the US version?

Yes, go buy a set and see if they work.

 

as an owner of a 2011 clubman the ONLY thing that is LED is the two half circles facing each other. Gives off a "cool" effect at night or when the running lights are on.

The do not get brighter when you hit the brake either. The clear part pictures is actually the reverse light. When i ordered my mini i was actually quite disappointed to find out that the rear tail lights are not really LED. especially for a 32k car.

I would almost bet you that it would be a direct replacement. I cant see anyreason that they would change the mounting or wire harness just for a LED running light
