Just an example of how it should look = lightly sanding/feathering the glazing putty and initial primer application.

I wanted a specific style one that was sleek and proportionate to my face. So, back into the pan they went for final shaping.

After insuring that the lenses fit perfectly and snug and the welds were strong - a small amount of 2part Apoxie putty was all that was needed to smooth and finish the welded joints.

A quick 400 grit sanding and scuffing, light coat of primer and glazing putty to fill/feather any defects - The frames were ready for another final light coat of primer and final sanding before paint.

I gathered up a few items: Small spray bottle, 40grit sanding disc, wire brush, a couple of small brushes and a 2" high powered magnet.

I reformed affected sills with Apoxie sculpting medium. Although, I would have preferred to use aluminum fortified epoxy (JB weld would work too). Apoxie Sculpt is impervious and cures rock hard. It is by far my favorite and most versatile product in my fabrication arsenal.

On the otherhand, I really detest seeing that yellowing OEM tank jumping out at me when I open the hood.

All that was needed to snug it in place - was a little bit of Apoxie putty.
Side note: In lieu of Apoxie, you can substitute with 5min JB weld, or *hot glue (*as long as you have the wiring connected to a relay*).
