Extra lift for the win! Easily removes the subframe from the trans jack and supports it while I keep going. This is a life saver when working on a job like this alone!

Old, fried clutch. Hot spots everywhere on both the flywheel and PP.

New single mass setup all torqued down.

Repair to the radiator carrier. A metal plate and some bolts, then some Q Bond (on both sides) of the vertical crack. Much better than before!

You can see the rust and water marks in the center of the trim panel.

First step was to make a belt tensioner tool out of leftovers from a flat panel TV mount and an extra socket. Found some drawings online to base it off of and it works pretty well.

Old balancer off. Yes, thise are M8 nuts welded to the face. I didn't pay attention to the proceedure and was trying to pull it off of itself. This ia what hapoens when you rush, and I ended up breaking M6 bolts off in the balancer. Finally got a stud to push on threaded into the crank and the old balancer off.

New Corteco balancer. Definitely the OE supplier, you can see where the BMW markings were ground off for sale in their own packaging. Extra time involved but it still ends up being the less expensive part.

Brand new MINI scoop spurced from Ebay, as delivered. Very glad to have the new studs. Wish it had come with nuts, but I have scrounged just enough M5 nuts to get it fastened down!

4 coats of black, 3 coats of clear, Rustoleum rattle can treatment. It's not my best rattle can effort, but I think there is plenty on there to give a little wet sand and polish once it's soldily mounted on the car.

Installed the hood scoop I painted yesterday. Not bad for using what I had on hand, but the black is getting a little over the top.

Scoop has been installed! While the black is better than the as delivered primer, the black treatment is getting a little over the top. Still better than no scoop!

Used this to thump the fuel pump while cranking and it came back to life.

Typical weekend appearance for an R53. Bypassing the (missing) HK amp to regain a 4 channel stereo for the wife's listening pleasure.

All connected and ready to rock n roll. I left the extra for any future need.

Sadly too many other projects got in the way and I didn't get around to peeling the Plastidip off of them to freshen them up.

Here's the other tires, all installed at the same time, about 7k miles on them. :eeps!:

Got the pipe seated against the cat and just welded it to the heavy duty heat shield. Not my best work, but it doesn't leak and should hold for a bit. May be time to explore header options.

First order of business was to sort out the tweaked rear trailing arm. Nothing the torch and a BFH couldn't handle. Much better than it was.

Next was replacement of the other RTAB.

Next up was inner and outer tierods. I had a bugger of a time getting them adjusted the last time I aligned it, so new ones went in! I wasn't messing around and just cut the old ones in half to remove the boots.
