WANTED- Silk green or light blue mini cooper! Must be automatic!
I desperately want a silk green or light blue mini cooper. Leather and all the extras would be nice but... it has to be automatic! I have tried and tried to learn to drive a stick but it's just not going to happen! I live in the Atlanta area but would pay to have one shipped if it were right!
I have a 2002 Silk green mini with the premium package, sport package, it has leather, automatic, upgraded stereo, chrome trim exerior, heated seats, stability control, extended sun roof, 16" rims, and more... It has 86000 miles. I need to sell, can't afford payments anymore. $12700. You can e-mail me at misslippy@charter.net
Regardless whether you can or cannot drive stick, if you live in Atlanta, you need an automatic.
I live in Charlotte and traffic isn't anywhere near as bad. My deciding factor was going to Myrtle Beach and getting stuck in traffic for 2 hours. Sticks SUCK when you're stuck in traffic.. let the clutch in, let it out, shift, don't shift, up, down..arggghhh.
It wouldn't be too bad but with an "S", it's a 6 speed... just another gear to have to shift that much more.
After two minis, my new one is an automatic. I can't speak for the non "S" or a supercharged "S" (as opposed to the new turbo S) but an automatic in a new "S" will definitely put a smile on your face.
I couldn't believe how well that car performed for an automatic.

I actually went to trade my cabrio in on a clubman. While I was waiting for them to get it ready, someone had just come in from an automatic test ride. I thought for ***** and giggles, I would take an automatic for a test ride.
HOLY COW... I had this stupid grin on my face, I looked over at my MA without saying a word and she said "yeah, I know... everyone has that same look when they drive an automatic for the first time"
I hadn't used the paddle shifters nor the sport button and I was impressed. I'm even more impressed that it gets 39.xx mpg on the highway at 75mph.
EVERYONE that has gone for a ride has made the exact same comment.... they can't believe how well it runs.
My problem is between traffic sucking in Charlotte and getting stuck in bumper to bumper traffic at the beach for 2 hours, I realized, I'd rather slip off my shoes, lay back and relax than keep messing with the stupid clutch.
And if I miss the shifting, I can always use the paddle shifters or the electronic shifting.
And yes... I am getting old.
