Webb Motorsports Extreme Rear Swaybar

Webb Motorsports is proud to announce our new Extreme Rear Swaybar!

This is by far the finest product for the MINI suspension available. We used cutting edge full race technology which is suitable for the street and track. Let's start with the design. We based the design on a linear progression which is achieved using a straight bar with billet endlinks. This gives a much more predictable feel to the car, even when there is oversteer dialed in. Once we had the idea, we used state of the art rendering and design programs. Here's the final drawing of the production version of the Extreme Swaybar:

As you can see in the design, this system utilizes a slider adjustment on each endlink. This system uses a male and female on the droplink, making unwanted position changes impossible. Here's a shot of the droplink pieces right out of manufacturing:

What this set up allows is virtually infinite adjustment from 10% softer than stock to 348% stiffer than stock (on the Cooper S).

We have also incorporated droplinks with this kit which are lighter and stronger than stock while at the same time allowing for preload adjustment. They also use very high end heim joints to attach the swaybar to the trailing arm.

The swaybar also uses a unique to the MINI industry splined chromoly 4130 tubular straight bar, which is again adjustable using the splines on the bar and endlinks for preload. This is the strongest and most direct method of effecting change during load.

Each endlink is lineated for repeatable adjustments. Here are some shots of the endlinks, which are billet units, coming out of production:

The bar is mounted in bearing blocks which require no lubrication - they use unobtanium materials (and that is our in-house secret). Lateral movement is prevented with application specific side plates.

The endlinks, swaybar bearing blocks, droplinks and side plates are all anodized red aluminum, while the chromoly bar is black. All units come with a link to our swaybar how-to as well as a complete parts illustration, below:

The complete swaybar kit is the lightest on the market at just under 8 lbs.

The nice thing about this kit is the simplicity of it. While it has by far more adjustability than any other bar on the market, it can certainly be set easily, and does not have to be adjusted ever again if the customer does not want to experiment. A "default" setting can be recommended for the street. The capability is there for those who do want to fine tune their driving experience for specific conditions.

This entire system is $475, which includes the droplinks and all of the above mentioned hardware. Here are shots of the entire kit in final production form:

This unit will be shipping on Tuesday of next week, and is currently available online or by calling the shop. The initial run is 25 units. Here is a link to the Webb Motorsports catalog page where the Extreme Rear Swaybar can be purchased online:

We are obviously excited about this product, which is the first product released in our Extreme line. More will follow, and will be equally exciting!

Feel free to call with any questions.

Thanks!

We have about ten of these left! I have been very happy with the results of the bar, and so have the customers.

Here are a couple of shots of the bar installed, per request:

Thanks to all for your support!
