TCE introduces Wilwood Brake Kits for MINI

TCE Performance Products is pleased to announce that it has now included the MINI in its successful line of Wilwood-based big brake kit upgrades. Like all TCE kits, the MINI kit is offered in a couple of fashions to best suite the requirements of the end user.

All 'base' kits include two piece hat/rotor combos, bracketry, pads, hoses, hardware and the robust Wilwood Forged Superlite four piston caliper. Prototype fit has shown the base 13" kit to fit the stock 17" wheels with only the supplied .095" wheel spacer and thus not even require a change of wheel bolt.

Rotor finish options such as gas slotting, drilling, and zinc plate are all available for extra cost off the menu of options. Base kits start as low as $1059. For more information on TCE and their MINI brake kit visit their website!

MINI mini kit lives!

I'm happy to report that the proposed and now fit tested, TCE 12.2 DynaPro caliper brake kit is a 100% success on 16" S wheels. And with NO wheel spacer!

This smaller sized package packs a punch in both quality, performance and good looks. It's also the only caliper kit from TCE which offers you fully booted calipers for those who insist on them.

The kit went on like a champ; the radial brackets, two piece hats and rotors and the DynaPro caliper fell into place. I'm more than pleased with this smaller power house package and the fact that there are proper alternatives for those wishing to use 16" wheels. Simply put; this is on bitchin' little package!

For more info and pics you may email me or in short order perhaps Aric who stopped by for a couple of hours to offer up his car can add his thoughts and such.

I'm considering a 'pre production' special on this one as there is now but ONE of these in compete form. The inventory of brackets will be worked out over the next week or so.

Keep those cards and letters coming...!

Will this fit on the 16" 5-Stars?

I admit; I don't know. There appar to be many wheel options on the car and this makes finding all of them to test a bit difficult.

Remove a wheel, place a flat edge on the inside of the mounting face, from this plane measure down 20mm at a radius of about 5 to 5.5" from center. This will simulate the caliper placement relative to the spokes. I did this on the S wheel prior to attempting to fit, I was quite confident of fit before I placed the wheel.

Great Brake kit- thanks

toddtce,

Thanks for making big brake kits for the MINI in sizes to fit 16" and 17" stock MINI wheels.

One of the problems with big brake calipers is making sure that the clearance is good for a given wheel. There is no way to be sure every possible wheel is going to fit perfectly. Having the spacer helps.

I think it is very likely that the 16" 5 star spoke rim from the MC sport package is going to fit the TCE 12.2 DynaPro caliper brake kit.
We know it clears the X-lyte so now just find a stock MCS with X-lytes and study the clearance it has on the front brake caliper and compare that with your 16" 5 star spoke rim and if it looks pretty similar you're in good shape.

I was looking at the 17" S-lytes and R90 two piece spoked rims and the clearance on the S-lytes was much closer than the R90s.

Todd, can you make us a diagram of how to measure for enough space for the DP caliper?

Yes, multi wheels can be a pain to test fit.

I don't have a template or pattern I'm sorry. There are just too many options in my product line to template them all. Could I suppose, but quite costly.

The instructions above are really a template only by the numbers. Flat edge on the hub face, measure down from said flat edge at about a five inch radius from center. You'll need about 20mm from the flat edge to the spoke. Try it, you'll see that it's really pretty easy to visualize when you do.

I'm out the rest of the day traveling so please feel free to post results but I won't get back to you for a while. 12 hour drive....uggh.
