TCE Big Brake Kit info now available! UPDATED May 31 See la
Please excuse the lack of our Mini page on the TCE web site right now. The good folks here were quick to get the advertising up and running before we had the info in place for the kits.
The current test kit/car is running around here in Phoenix and I hope to take few more pictures of it today. Driving it myself the cars respnse is very strong, pedal feel is great and modulation exactly what you're after for 'spritited driving'.
Some detaials;
The base kit is pricecd at $1059.
This includes; Two piece hat/rotors, Forged Superlite calipers, Pads, brackets, hoses and hardware. The rear rotor kit is still a couple weeks out but will provide a fantastic matching look to our front kits- estimated price $435.
TCE offers many of the popular rotor fiinish options such as; gas slotting, drilling, combos, and zinc plating. All are ala carte and can be added to our kits for minimal fees.
Looking forward to helping many MINI owners and their needs!

After looking over the car again today in the shop we are going to reconsider our postion on the use of stock lugs. The fit of the right side, which could have run without the thin spacer proved to be fine with the stock bolts, however after fitting the spacer to clear the other wheel (gotta love production parts!) we feel that the loss of about 1-2 threadlands is not acceptable for safety sake. Having only tested the fit with one of the 17" wheels this may not be the case on all of them. The requirement is based mainly on the addtion of the .095 spacer.
That being said, if anyone can point me to a supplier of longer M12 bolts for the BMWs I would apprecitate it.

My appologies to those who mentioned that the web page has some 'errors' in the text. I've passed the word to the web folks and hope they can get it resolved in short order. As well as get some pics up finally. All in due time, things fell into place a bit quicker than was planned on this one.
Greetings MINI folks, hope you all had a nice holiday.
While you've been BBQ'n I've been workin'. (in fairness its because I'll be shut down later this week for two days of Pikes Peak testing and a race weekend coming up, not that I really wanted to work....)
What I have on the burner now is a slightly smaller brake kit for the MINI which will aide you in the autocross world as well as hopefully cater to you folks with 16" wheels. This one fits behind the 17s in the shop without a spacer and room to spare. Hopefully the 16s will be as friendly or at least spacing requirements minimal.
What we have come up with for you is a very worthy 12.2 x .81, heavy duty, directionally vaned rotor and the stout little Wiwood Dyna Pro caliper. This little power house offers you both proper piston area, a stiff design, moderately thick pads (the same as some of those high dollar kits) and a fully dust booted design for the year round use many have been asking for.
This kit is not what I'd consider the most heavy track only application. For that you'd do well to consider the 'regular' 13" kits with the larger rotor options, calipers and beefier pad/pad options. Still, for many who want a good brake kit at a decent price and don't see swinging around 15-17lbs of rotor such a good idea...well here's middle ground for you.
Like the larger kits this one will offfer you the choice of rotor finish options such as gas slotting, drilling, both and zinc plating. We tend to find Zinc a bit of a waste of money on 12.2s given the hat covers much of the rotor, but its' up to you. The kit includes, hats, and rotors, radial mount DynaPro calipers, pads, custom TCE brackets, hoses, and all the hardware required. You supply the fluid of choice.
This new pacakage will be listed on the web page soon, but base pricing will be $1269.
TCE expects to have the first run of final parts for this as well as the larger kits in hand within a week to ten days. To get the ball rolling (or stopping) both kits are going to be available from now until June 30th with a $100 discount. While not sounding like much this puts the base 13" kit under a grand. Pretty hard to beat that. As TCE works buyer direct you are offered the best prices always, and when it goes on sale you know it's a deal!
