Just in time for summer top-down motoring, we now have dog back seat mats with side panels for the MINI Cooper Convertible! Side panel mats are available for both 1st and 2nd generation MINI Convertibles.

Side panels for the Convertible back seat covers were a challenge. We use suction cups to keep the side panels in place in the MINI Cooper Hardtop and Clubman, but the back windows are fixed in place. In the Convertible, of course, the back windows go up and down to allow for the top to go up and down. We tried to find a solution other than suction cups, but ultimately, it was just not possible.

So, back seat mats with side panels for the Convertible use suction cups on the windows. What this means is that in order to put the windows up and down, you will need to remove and reattach the suction cups. When you have the top down, you will need to keep the back windows up a bit or so in order to reattach the suction cups. While it involves a bit more work than in the Hardtop or Clubman, it is a great way to protect the interior of your Convertible.

Check out Molly (left) and Belle who love motoring around the scenic (and twisty!) roads in Germany. They ride in style while the back seat stays neat and tidy - their mat features the side panels and raised dip on the front extensions.


Please note that reversible combinations are not possible on the MINI Cooper Convertible back seat covers with side panels due to the straps that are sewn into the top half of the mat - they keep the mat in place during top down motoring, but also make it impossible to reverse. We can still do different trims and mix and match fabrics on the various parts of the mat to customize your mat to your MINI.
