My Orlando Test Drive...
My Orlando Test Drive...
Since I don't have my mini yet Im going to post the test drive since it was quite fun.
So I got into the MINI Cooper S and immediately discovered I can fit between anything in that car. My mom was with me in the passengers seat with the Sales person, who was a woman, in the back. She took me straight to the freeway. I had never driven on this stretch of road and where I come from the exits are at least a mile apart. She told me we would stay on for 2 exits. So I got in the middle lane of three to pass a large van. I saw the exit come up suddenly and I freaked out. I asked her if i could go for the exit which I was now parallel with and the van between me and the exit. Th exit lane now had those diagonal lines across it to so I was RIGHT there. She said yes. So I stepped on it and i'll tell you i've never had a more fun time in a car than that test drive. The mini took the swerve across the right lane into the exit like it had done it millions of times before and the acceleration was awesome!
We didn't travel very far but it was a lot of fun and i thought it was funny with the sales person in the car with us. My mom kinda freaked out though, oh well. We probably topped out at 80-90 by the time I was on the off-ramp.

Sounds great =)
When I took my test drive the sales guy told me to take a couple turns without braking and I was like O.O but the car performed beautifully. And yes, fun to squeeze into those half-lanes used for right turns that other cars won't fit into.

I had a similar experience with my test drive of a MCS in Nashville.
The sales people were very busy that day, so it was just the wife and I in the MINI. After our salesman got the keys and a dealer tag for the car, he gave us directions on some side streets that would get us to an exit about a mile south of the dealership. That exit would take us up on I-65 for a mile, then off again at the next exit next to the dealership.
The last thing the salesman said to me before we left was "Drive it like you stole it!".
The back streets gave me a good opportunity to see how the car handled. When I got to the on ramp, I took the turn in second gear. I was watching the tach as I went up through the gears to fourth. I was winding out the engine on each gear to somewheres between 4 & 5K RPM. We were only about half way up the ramp when both the wife and I noticed the speedometer was at 90 MPH!
I decided to put it in fifth and coast the rest of the way to the next exit. We were sold at that point.
