hello all,

without lowering my mcs, would i get any rubbing if i use 215-40-18 tires on
43 mm offset rims?

i'm currently running 35's and i really don't like the rough ride. i was told that 40's will help a little.

i know the default profile is 35, but i really don't want to lowere my car.
yet, i still want to close the gap between my tires and my fenders/quarterpanels.

can anyone tell me what i should do?

I honestly don't have an answer for you, but I had to post because I wanted you to know that those wheels look fantastic on your car. *drool*

I discussed a similar situation recently and there should be plenty of room for me to run a slightly larger diameter tire.

Speedo and gear ratios will be off from stock a little, but not a major concern to me.

Regardless, your comfort will suffer on 18" rims regardless of a tire switch. Might be worth trying though once you burn down the current tires. . . .

Put the car up on stands. Travle the suspension with a floor jack, all the while articulating the steering wheel. This imitataes any road situation you may encounter. This is your best idea for a safe testfit.

Alex,

what you're saying is i'll either have to mount one 40 series tire first then try the jack method you've described earlier, or do the jack method with my existing tire and wheel and observe how much "gap" i have left when my suspension is fully compressed.

let me ask you this, Alex.

from experience, do you think i would get any rubbing?

With the 40's installed on the car. I think at full travel you may rub, thats why I recomed a test fit.
