Wider tires to prevent curbage?

Hi: I have a 2005 MCS with 17" white s-lites. I'm sick of getting scratches whenever I come too close to the curb when parking. Is there a wider size runflat tire that can protect my rims and not rub against the fender? I also went through three tires in two years due to bulges from potholes. Thanks!

Walton

my experience has been even with the wider tire, if you park too close to the curb, you will scratch the wheels.. so just don't park too close..

there are tires that have a rim protector on them. Mine have one-they are Yokohama Parada Spec-2s. Its a bit that sticks out just a little outside of the rim...and it absorbs the hit. it does a decent job.
