Tire Trouble

Setup: 03 MCS, 48k miles, Pirelli Eufori@ runflats.
Just noticed that my right front tire is completely gone in the center; steel belts showing! Outer and inner tread are still OK.
I've been pretty regular in checking pressures in the 8k miles I've had the car, so I won't be quick to point any fingers my way.

I know that this is a classic symptom of overinflation, but is there anything else that could cause 1 tire to wear out in this manner, quicker than the rest?
Left front is at ~4/32, and the rears are at ~5/32.
Could worn steering/ suspension parts cause this? I'd really like to know, as I'm putting new tires on today and don't want this to repeat!

Wheel spinning will also cause the tyre to wear in the middle. Not I am not 100% sure, but I thought the RF is the wheel that will spin free if traction is lost.

When's the last time the current wheels/tires were balanced?

Don't know. Bought the car in November and haven't had it done myself. No vibrations, though.

Smart a$$ answers:
48K will do that to a tire
You've been riding on rails - at least on the right side.

That does seem a bit strange - though it could have been started with the PO, if they kept it overinflated for a long period of time. The carcass of a runflat is stiff, so their not as prone to bulging.
No suspension component that I can think of would cause that type of wear. Keep an eye on the new ones, and rotate every 5K.
