I'm getting to replace my RFs and I'm not going back with RFs, to harsh a ride for me. I'm not sure what tires I'll get, but I'm getting close.

The RF sensor will work on any tire. Doesen't matter if its a RF. I believe that the system works like this: the system identifies a change in tire rotation and turns on the indicator light when one of the tires looses air pressure (changing the rolling diameter of the tire).

You should be able to get plenty of opinions on "what tires are better", but you might first want to indicate what type of driving you do, if you drive in the snow, rain, etc.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm about to ditch my RFs (16K miles) for a set of Kuhmo Ecsta ASX's in 215/45R17 from tirerack. I'm really looking forward to the ride improvement that is so widely described on this forum. (Already have KONI FSDs)

The new runflats, on the R56, are supposedly much better than the previous generation runflats with regard to grip and ride--don't know when they'll be available though in the U.S.

Hmmm, tough choice there, and several threads on the topic. You can get both better performance AND a better ride with non RFs, but check the thread(s) on what to bring with you (tire patch kit, slime, compressor, fix-a-flat, or a spare in the back).

A good bargain is to look for sets of RFs on the marketplace, they come up at a good price from time to time... or you can go to eBay where a set recently went for $700 + shipping!
