Wilwood with Web-Spokes

I got a set of Wilwoods for my MINI, and installing them's pretty easy, except for a couple things. The rotors seem to barely clear my splash guard, and my 17" web spokes rub against the calipers.

I guess issue number one, has anyone who installed the 12.1" Wilwoods seen that problem with the splash guard? I'm afraid of driving with such a small amount of clearance, roughly 1mm, at best.

Second issue, I guess I should get some spacers, or new wheels. Seeing as funds are not infinite, I'll get spacers for now. Does anyone have any pro/cons to installing a spacer? The clearance required is very small.

1. Pull the dust plates off completely.
2. Spacers will require a stud conversion as well. Purchase min wheel spacers as needed for clearance of course. Caliper clearance of about 2mm is enough.

It's okay to pull the dust plates off?

Er, stud conversion? What's that? Sorry if I seem dense.

I never leave them on. Given the increase in rotor size they can impede air flow to the center.

Stud conversions are used when you fit a spacer. The lug bolts will be too short for anything but the very, very thinnest of spacers.
