Kosei K1 rims and BBK?

I'm trying to find a big-brake kit that will fit under 17" X 7.5" / ET45 Kosei K1 rims without spacers. (After all, if I'm buying new rims and brakes, I'd rather buy a combo that doesn't require a spacer than one that does).

I found a little bit of information by searching the forums, but the thread I found was 2-1/2 years old, and only talked about the Stoptech brakes (which wouldn't fit), and the Brembo (which I believe is larger than the Stoptech).

I'm interested in the Wilwood brake kits, particularly the 12.2" Street Kit or the 13" X .81" Street Sport Kit.

Is anyone here running either of those kits with K1's? Any clearance issues? If you did have to use a spacer, what size did you use?

Thanks,
Scott

TCE Wilwood, 13"
I used them with the K1s with no issues. Though I opted for a 5mm spacer anyway.

It totally works, and I used no spacers at all, and I have the largest brakes system that is on the market today for the Mini - plenty of room.

I believe we have the same wheels, so go for it!
You'll have to look closely, but there they are.

The Detroit Tuned BBK with 12.8 inch rotors should work.

Thanks - do your Wilwoods have the .81" thick rotors or the 1.10" thick rotors? (Street Sport Kit or Road Race Kit?)

I'm probably going to go with the .81" rotors, but figured I'd ask, as long as you were helpful enough to respond.

Thanks again,
Scott

Go with the .81 on the Mini. They are quite a bit lighter and I never had any heat issues with all the tracking I did with these. They will continue to be the same brakes on the full out race car.

Not to mention, .. Todd is excelent do work with. One of the best vendors here on NAM.
