My car had over 3/8" toe in in the front on delivery. (3 1/2 years ago).
Found that out when I measured it myself a week or two after I got it,
and promptly re-set it to about 1/16" toe in.
It's been holding to that value since...but I'm used to checking alignment
from doing it frequently on previous cars.
Can't take anything for granted.

Take the 50% deal. After all, you probably got 50% of the life out of those tires anyway, so you're just getting new tires ahead of schedule and it's costing you nothing extra.....sort of. It would bug me as well to not hear them admit that the fault might have been theirs.....oh well.....

And though I'm a great fan of regular rotation (~5K for me), I don't see why everyone is jumping on that issue in this case. If the wear is the same, and in the same place, on all four tires, even rotation every 1K miles wouldn't have changed the end result.

I'd take it too.

On the bright side, the car's fuel economy may be better now and it should feel less twitchy, but turn-in will be more sluggish. Lots of people here intentionally run toe-out because they care more for the handling than tire wear.
