I recently made a trip upp north to the New York/New Jersey area. Unfortunately it was shortly after the voracious snow storms from this past winter. On my way back from New York City one night to my parents house in New Jersey I hit a bump which busted my two front Pirelli Eufori run-flat tires. I thought it wasnt any different from any other bump that I have run over before, but it was. Not thinking anything is wrong, and given the fact that my tire pressure guage never came on, I continued driving on the highway at about 65-70mph. I arrived at my parents house and went inside to go to bed. The next morning I come outside to drive back down to Maryland and there are two bubbles, one stivcking out the sidewall of each tire near the inner rim area. I have talked to Mini, my dealership and Pirelli with no luck. The told me to get a proper idea of what happened I would have had to leave the tires on the car for an authorized Pirelli dealer to inspect. I suggest that all of you with run-flats, please get your tires rotated every 5,000 miles. Dont wind up like me shelling out over $400 for a new set of tires at 9000 miles.

Don't feel too bad, a pothole in Brooklyn ate my right front tire and wheel, I'm still waiting on a replacement.

Must have been some "bump"

What would tire rotation have to do with preventing this?

This is why I got rid of mine. Bought regular tires and new rims. and 1 can of
Fix-A-Flat. Only thing BMW goofed on was the run flats. Should of found room for a spare.IMHO

Why did you get new rims? I understand from Mini and from my tires store that the run flat rims will work fine. I can't see staying sith run flats having replaced one for $300. Just waiting for it to happen again. Tire Rack rep said changing would interfere with the electronic flat detector but Mini said that was bogus,

The Mini's runflat sensor is an ABS brake counter. Its a diameter sensing. I'd be more concerned about mixing of sidewall ridigidity
