Proper tire preasure for OEM 15”

The door jam tag says 30 lbs. all around for the standared 15” tires that came on my MC’s holeys, but the dealer had 38 lbs. in them when I picked them up. Any reason to have them at a higher pressure than the tagged 30 lbs.?

there's a chart in the owner's manual as well.
i'd start w/ that one as a guideline.

I run my fronts at around 34 lbs. and the rears at around 32 lbs. That seems to work for me.

The dealer probably didn't even check them. That's the sad reality. No way would I believe they put 38 psi in them on purpose. Perhaps that's the factory psi set for shipping? Set them to 30 when cold adn using a quality guage, and drive. You'll be fine.

Here's an example of how thoughtless dealers can be. My 2004 3-series required 30 psi front, 35 psi back. I kept it that way religiously. Every time I took my car into the shop (USA) for warranty service intervals, the car came out with 32 psi all around. Just goes to show they don't pay attention to the checklist they have in front of them. Here in Europe from what I've experienced it's the opposite. Service is spot-on. My MCS was delivered here in Germany with 36 psi all around. That's what the book says for cars that travel over 100 mph, which I can legally do here. I did reset them to 33 though the break-in period. Oh, and when I still had that 2005 3-series here in Germany, at the service interval they rotated my tires and reset the pressures as standard, 30 psi front and 35 rear. I didn't have to say a word.

Depending on your road condition and how aggressive you drive, I'm on OEM 15" with contis and I have 38psi front and 41psi rear. My tire wear is very even across the thread, rotated twice in about 6000 miles, inside has 7/32, middle and outside has 6/32 left, basically the same wear in all 4 tires.

I guess I'm a very aggressive taking corners, the tires are wearing out too fast

Better than my '05 MC with Holeys, the door jam says 35psi all around, which if you check the owners manual, is the pressure for fully loaded 4 pasgrs adn luggage. One -two people is 30Psi.
