New Car and Driver Tire comparo...

I saw the teaser on Car and Driver on TV today. It only covers the top four, and the review covers 11 tire types. The winner was the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. They go over each tire so you can see if the wieghting of the results reflects your driving tendancies. Anyway, the link is here.

thanks for the post! from my experience, i think the GS-D3's are
very capable tires too. also, it wears very well. i have over 15k miles
on them and still plenty of tread left. (and I drive very spiritedly at
times...)

I really thought this would get more comments.

Guess everyone agrees, or just doesn't care. But it's a decent review, and has some good information for those buying their Mini new shoes....

I have run both the ContiSportContact2s and the Toyo T1Rs and could not disagree more with their test.

I have run both tires at the track and found the Toyos to be a great non-R compound tire. I consider their dry grip to be better than the Contis and have no complaints about wet traction. They are a bit on the noisy side but I am extremely comfortable with the way they handle at the limit.

The Contis are a quieter tire with slightly better performance in the wet and a bit more ride comfort. However, I was no where near as comfortable with their performance at either the track or spirited canyon driving.

I found the T1-s a bit squirly in the wet, even though it had better turn in than the Goodyears, I live where there's fog and wet all the time, so they had to go.

I wish they would have tested the BFGoodrich KDW2! I seriously think they would have been in the top 3 if not the overall winner.

They don't test all the players... But what do you expect for free?
