Wheel help please

Ok, I've read 300 or so threads and now I'm more confused than ever. My plan was to replace my S lites with Rota Slipstreams. They come in 16x7 100x4 56.1 centerbore and 45 offset, but the color I want is not available anywhere in the US (yes, I have worked with about 15 different suppliers). They do have the Subzero with a 40mm offset available.

Will 40mm offset work for me? Daily street driving, may autocross someday. Looking at a 205/50/16 tire.

Will I need new wheel lugs? What determines if you will need new lugs with any aftermarket wheel?

40mm offset should not be a problem at all. All aftermarket rims i bought came with lug nuts, so you should not have problems with that either, but talk to the supplier. 205/50/16s are good selection, very comfortable.

stinger- with the subzeros they use the same conial lug holes so you can
even use your factory lug bolts if you'd like. there are basically
3 types of lug designs. Ours is the conical type.

You can read more about them here:

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=102

The other determining factor is how thick the wheel is. You have
to have at least 7 revs on the lug bolts to ensure proper fitment.
If you can't get minimum 7 revs, you want to get longer lug bolts
which Pilo sells. but since those subzero's work fine on Honda's
they can fit with the standard lug bolt lengths.

Thanks

ScueriaMini and Kenchan Thanks for the advice!

So what difference does the 45mm offset Slipstream get me over the 40mm offset on the Subzeros? I think the stock S lite offest is 50mm. Doesn't the 40mm mean that the edge of the wheels will be closer to the outside of the fender? Will it affect any other wheel geometry - like performance of the ABS, mph reading, odometer, etc?

yeh, your wheel will be closer to the fender, but should look good.

naw, you don't need to worry about those. you might get more
tramlining if you use stiff sidwall tires, but you should be fine.
