What can you fit?

How big of a tire in terms of width have you guys been able to fit without a lot of modding to the the fenders? I am curious since I am going to be replacing all wheels and tires.
Thanks

I went through this when I bought new wheels and tires. There are several variables that come into play. First, is your car lowered? What size and width wheel are you going to run? What is the wheel's offset? Lastly, different tires have different shoulders for the same size, so a tire with a squarer shoulder has a better chance of rubbing than a rounder one. To answer all those questions for my set up, my car isn't lowered, I bought 17x7.5 inch wheels with 45 offset, and my tires are 225/40ZR17 Nittos. This combination doesn't rub. The 225 width is considered wide for the MINI, but I have seen some squarer shouldered 215's that look just as wide.
