225s on 16x7 rims?
225s on 16x7 rims?
The rim width range is from 7 to 8.5" for a 225/45ZR16 tire (Toyo T1rs) I'm eye-balling... Anyone running with 225's on a 7" rim? Seems like it might not be advisable... 20 lbs for this size tire is pretty dang good... 280 treadwear.
215's are somewhat limited for 16's...
My standby is Yokohama AVS ES100 205/45 and they are like 80 bucks at Tire Rack. They have a section width and tread width equal or greater than many 215's... 19.81 pounds.
Also on the short list are the Pirelli P Zero M&S (205/45). With a 400 treadwear rating, 19 lbs, and very good performance for an all-season...
I'm tempted to step-up to 225 though... Thoughts, ideas, and of course experience is very welcome. Thanks.

Thanks Aaron!
With a higher profile, like your 50, it does become a better situation. I know with a 40, the recommended range for a 225 does not include a 7" rim...
I'm contemplaying a 45, thus the concern...
Aaron, any fitment issues with your 225's?
