Also, I see that if I buy the 16" version of the wheel, I will be stuck with trying to find a tire in the weird 195/55/16" size. If I get the 17" wheel, a larger selection of tires will be available, like the excellent Kumho ECSTA SPT for under $100.
Any Thoughts on ride quality difference between the 16" and 17" rims, I am going for more of a touring quality?

The ASA's look great!! I've always liked that look on the MCS! I have a beef with tire-rack and what they consider "lightweight" though. 18lbs on a 16x7 is only lightweight if youre comparing it to a full chrome wheel

Remove stock 16" runflats from stock rims, install on JH6. Bolt to MINI.
Only thing that is a "little" different is that you need to use the MINI center cap from the 17" S-Lite rims.
about 9 months on the rims, still great. My wife loves them, often will just announce that: "I love my rims. If at some point i get a different MINI, I am keeping my rims"
Also, the way the spokes are shaped seems to help keep brake dust off of the front surface of the rims - they stay rather clean for BMW/MINI brake pads. My X-Lites are always filthy, her JH6's stay clean.
hope that helps!

I love mine, I have the 17" ASA JH6 with Yoko ES100s and love the look and the ride. I've had them on for 4000+ miles. And they do seem to stay cleaner than the webspokes.
Here's a pic.

Coop, 18lbs is heavy for a 16x7 racing wheel, but it's about the same as a 16x7 Panasport FS street wheel (same 8-spoke Minilite style).
