This is what I'm planning -

- $35 spare rim from Classic
- some junk yard 115/70 R15 with a load rating of at least 90M (90M is what I've read else where is stamped on the tire) or drop by a Ford dealer to see if they have an tires laying around.
- Take it some where for mounting

I figure doing this will total about $70-80.

Apparently, some VWs use a 125, but I want to keep the rim as thin as possible so that it fits behind the passenger seat better.

To save even more money, go to any Ford dealer and see if they have any
15" donut tires laying around. I got a new donut tire mounted to a Ford rim
for $30.00. I then had the tire mounted to the MINI rim and sold the Ford
rim for $10.00. Net cost to me for the new tire was $20.00

Another source for a viable spare are chevy cobalts, 15" 4x100 lug and even the hub is just about spot on (prolly 1-2mm bigger). should be easier to find and source: buy new from a dealer, find in a junkyard, or just rent a cobalt and snake the spare if you're particularly unscrupulous.
