Seriously..my Kumhos MXx are getting low on thread so I will go to something with a higher rating for my next set.

FYI -- Two years ago Ziexes + ROTAs were about $800 for a set of four mounted & balanced with shipping from Atlanta from RSPEED

I wanted to get a set of extra rims for the track, but wasn't sure what the lug spread is? I don't have my service manual with me...

I finally made my tire decision last week, as my fíance and I were taking the MINI down to Myrtle Beach for vacation, and I couldn't stomach taking the trip on some very well worn Pirelli euphori@ run-flats.
So I went with the Yokohama AVS ES100's. Over the past week, I've put about 2500 highway miles on the Yoko's, and a couple hundred more miles around town on them, and they have been absolutely wonderful. Ophelia didn't drop any rain on us while we were down there, so I'll have to wait until we get some Chicago rain to see how well they do in the wet, but I am very happy so far.

I've had ES100s for about 15k miles and they've been pretty good. I think they are a little heavy, and maybe noiser than some tires, but the grip has been good for a street tire. I did my first 2 autocrosses this summer with 10k+ miles on them, and was not far behind more experienced drivers with track tires. I ditched the 17s for 16x7 Rotas and saved about 10lbs per corner. The 17s look good, but that's all they have going for them.

I'd be interested in more opinions about going from 17" to 16" wheels (I've got the lightest of the MINI 17" rims now - the 5-spoke "Bullets" (R91s or R93s, memory loss ) Anyway, I'm considering going with 16" rims primarily to improve ride comfort for passengers, and am considering the Kumho SPTs (recommended by Phil Wicks).
I'm definitely ditching the runflat Dunlop SP9000s. Thinking of doing 215 wide tires - either 17's on my existing wheels or 16's on new wheels. No immediate plans for lowering the suspension.
