Offset for Rota Wheels

I was looking at different Rota wheels (Slipstream, Subzero, and Grid), mostly in 16x7 sizes, and offsets of 40 and 45mm are available. What do you guys think would be better for running on a car modified with springs and a rear sway? The car will be driven "in a spirited manner" on the street mostly, with 3-4 track events per year and maybe some autocrosses.

I'm in that same boat as Strom. Was looking at Rotas recently and have the same question.

I went through the same drill a few weeks back.

I posted this: I have decided to go with Rota Slipstreams in Full Royal Gunmetal (thats the gunmetal gray with polished lip). They come in 3 sizes:
1670 4X100 45 H56.1
1670 4X100 45 H67.1
1670 4X100 40

If I did my research correctly, the one I want is the 16" 4X100 45 with the 56.1mm hub. Is that correct? That one will not require a hubcentric ring; at least thats what the writeup on Webb Motorsports says.

The plan is to mount Falken ZIEX 205/50 16 on these. Do you see any problems with this setup?

The answer that I got back from several folks at NAM (including minihune) was that the 16" 4x100 with the 56.1mm hub is the one you want. I haven't had a chance yet to buy these yet so I can't speak personally for the advice, but minihune knows his stuff.

Stinger,

Looks OK. Whenever you can use a wheel with no added centering ring that's good. Perfect fit and better all the way around.

Rota Slipstreams are a good choice for a no nonsense traditional 5 spoke design. They are replicas of the Spoon (TM) SW-388 (TM) wheels.
For the 16x7" rim the weight is 13.6 pounds each with finishes in White, Silver, Gun Metal, Flat Black, Bronze, and Flat Gun Metal. Whew!

(black only at this time).

I have a set of Rota Slipstreams 16x7 for autocrossing with a 40mm offset. 45mm would seem to sit too deep into the wheel well.

I had H&R springs and a rear sway bar with no rubbing issue's or other problems. I also ordered a set of Rota Grids which are waiting to go on my 05' soon.

I use hub centering rings with no problems and they're silky smooth on the road. I also did a track day with speeds up to 115mph with no problem.

Those pics are before the H&R springs.
