I just purchased 4 new Potenza S-03 PPs (2 days ago...sticker tires) and haven't had them mounted up yet. For some reason, I never looked at this at the time of purchase, but I was looking at the DOT date info today and they are dated 1403 (14th week of 2003...so April '03).

I called the place I bought them at and they said that every Bridgestone they've gotten as of late is dated '03 and they had called Bridgestone to ask about it (another customer had inquired as well). Bridgestone said they are cleaning out their warehouse...basically I shouldn't be concerned as they are safe and still carry the full warranty.

I can take them back...should I?
Based on the number of miles I put on and these are summer tires for me...the max I can see using them is 2 summers so I'd never run into a date issue that way.

What do you folks think?

 

Vintage tires . I dont think theres anything to worry about.

 

i have tires that came with the car that I use on occasion..those were
probably back from like 01-02 (on my 03' car).

I wouldn't worry about it. :smile:

 

As long as they are black, the have probably been stored correctly, and should be fine!
