Time for new tires...

Hi all,

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but my stock run flats are ready to be put out of their misery...so I have a few questions:

1) I have 21K on my 03 MCS - do run flats typically have a short tread life?
2) If I go with non-run flats, do I have to get new rims?
3) If the answer to 2) is "yes", how much do the OE MCS rims weigh (17")? Because I would like to know what kind of weight savings I could expect for the money...

Thanks

1)no... lasts about same as normal tires
2)of course not! u don't have to get new wheels... mini wheels are plenty fine and alot of people stick regular tires on mini wheels!
3)oem MCS wheels are not light... the sports package s-lites weigh in the neighbourhood of 25 lbs... if i remember correctly, all mini 17s weigh above 20 lbs... u can get some pretty light wheels for the price of mini oem wheels
