2023 Cooper S tire question

Hey all, wanted to ask some experts about a tire situation. I hit a pretty bad pot hole about two months ago, and just recently I started noticing this bubbling on my driver front tire. Wanted to ask peoples thoughts. Mini in my area is quoting $358 for a new tire right away, stating that its a road hazard. I was hoping they would try and repair it maybe but I guess that isn't an option. Is this safe to drive on for a while? Any Miniacs have any advice? Do I need a new tire asap?

I would replace it. Looks like the area where the rim hit the tire could be a future problem. Combo of heat and and spirited driving could be bad, imho.

Yep thats in a bad place, i would not drive on it and swap it out with new.

If it gets a nail in the main section of the tire you can plug or patch it, https://www.ecstuning.com/b-camel-pa...it/15-162~cml/ but when the tires start to come apart (like above) it can fail.

Some dealers with new cars will sell a roadside wheel and tire program that covers but my guess is that you don't have that. If anything its a good time to get a spare and switch to non runflats (smoother ride and better price tires). Spare: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...1685150611570/

If you want to keep it stock and all, then just get a new tire and install.

Wow! That sucks!

The tire needs to be replaced. Soon.

Tire Rack lists that tire, but it might be a later model; it is listed as “426B”, yours is just “426”. You need to make sure the replacement is compatible with your other ties. Also, compared to the TR price, the Dealer price is pretty good, even though it is crazy expensive. I would check with the dealer to see if their tire is a “426” or “426B” and if it is the “B” version, make sure they consider it to be compatible with your other tires.

Bottom line - I wouldn’t drive on that tire, especially at highway speeds.

Replace it. And don't forget to have the wheel checked.
I'd tend to replace both front tires depend on wear/remaining tread depth.
