Does anyone have a set of colored wheels on their car. By colored wheels I mean something other than Anthracite, black or white. Panasport makes yellow and blue. Minilite makes gold and yellow. Another Minilite type manufacturer makes red. I saw an ad for some sort of rims called "Kolors" in, gulp, orange. I am really considering some yellow wheels but would like to see some pics of Minis with some color to them. Anybody sprung for the rare? Anyone ever seem the Panasports in yellow in person?

When i lived in Colorado i saw somone with green wheels that went along with the bonnet stripes...

 

Back when I was young (in about 1955/56) the body shop that I hung out at used to take the chrome parts and paint them with a clear cote type of paint with a drop of green/yellow/red/blue or whatever color you wanted and the chrome would show through the color and they did not look bad. You might want to get a piece of chrome from the wrecking yard ( oops better call that salvage yard ) and give that a try. If it works to your liking get chrome rims and paint them.

Here's another LY MINI with yellow wheels. He had them powdercoated so they aren't exactly the right colour.
