Idle surge

Guys please help me.I'm driving mini cooper clubman 2010 model with 114000 km, it has a problem of idling when coming to stop. It's flips ups and down. Sometimes goes lower than 500rpm until its cuts off engine sometimes. What might be the problem be before I take it to dealership?

S model or not? What type of driving were you doing before the stop...how long, how hard did you push it? All recalls taken care of?

Need more info before making a guess, but I've been told - via videos and other posts - that MINIs are best shut down slowly because the cooling components like to do their work and oil and other engine ingredients appreciate the time to get back to their appropriate locations. Letting the car run for a minute or two after arriving at your destination is a good way to allow this to happen.

Fan also runs a little after car is shut off sometimes too. I think that's a normal thing as it happened with my other MCS too.

clubman idle problem

Thank you Jeff. It's not clubman S just standard with 6 forward push. The flipping happens when I come to stop after I applied brakes but along freeway it performs very well. No sign of engine lights appears on dashboard. A month ago dealership charged oil, oil filter, plugs, and air filter. Also clean vanos Solenoid and reset aption. The problem started 3 weeks after maintenance.

I am soft driver, apply gears on time and I don't do racing. I use the car to travel to workplace which is 70km return.
