White Diamond Wheels???

Hey guys,

I've been looking around at wheels since replacing the one bent wheel that came with the car costs almost as much as getting a whole new set. Anyway, I came across a brand called White Diamond that I'm drawn to. I haven't heard of them though, which is giving me second thoughts. Any experiences with this brand?

They look OK

http://www.bigbrandwheels.com/White-...eels-Dept/406/

They have selections of white/black finish wheels for the luxury and SUV/truck markets up to 22". They sell on eBay

When prices are low/affordable usually this means the wheels are using a lower cost gravity cast method and the wheel weight will be fairly high.

They don't seem to have that many wheels in sizes to fit the MINI with 4x100 bolt pattern.
Seems their 17" are 7.5" wide with offset of 42.

Tbh I'm not too terribly worried about wheel weight. My main concern is durability. I do live in Seattle, and the roads can be a bit off. I avoid the cobblestone streets as it is, but there are a few semi-rough ones I have to take. I suppose the real question is whether or not they will hold up to the occasional small pothole as I've hear horror stories. Thanks for your reply!

Driving on bad roads requires some skill and some luck.

The faster you hit the pothole the more potential for damage there can be.

Driving on roads at night, in the wet, or those that are unfamiliar can be risky. Even which lane to take on your commute can be smoother or not.

Cheap heavy wheels are strong enough because they are built heavy. In your case lightweight wheels might not hold up to daily street use especially with bad roads.

Diamond wheels look pretty heavy and may be only a few pounds light than OEM MINI wheels which tend to be very heavy. Before you buy, ask the vendor to check the wheel weight and look for something closer to 20 lbs which is still light for a 17x7.5" wheel.

Another option is to look at 16" wheels which cost less, weigh less, and fit tire sizes like 205/55-16 which offer more ride comfort but still offer good tire selection (summer and all season tire classes).

Thanks for your input, I definitely prefer the way 17's look, and have brand new tires on my current 17's which is why I'm sticking with them. I'll have to look into wheel weight and all that before I actually purchase. I really appreciate your help
