Too Fat?

It has been said that a 225/45/15 tire can fit on a SSR Comp C 15x6 + 38 offset wheel. Could this combination fit on a MINI S with stock suspension? How 'bout a lowered one with H-sport springs ? Rubbing issues?

Do I hear the faint whine of the Dremel in wheel well mod mode?

If so, anyone have a picture of such a set-up? Would love to see a picture of these fun "little fatties".

I don't really understand why you would like to put that wheel and tire on a MINI? A BMW M3 comes with 225/45/18 wheel and tires. Can say a MINI- S- or not, doesn't stand up to a M3 but, I guess it's a personal choice

I have SSR 15x7 42mm. For my next tire I was thinking of getting 225-50-15 (23.9" diameter). Not sure if it would fit. The distance on the front strut to the sidewall is pretty tight... about 1/2". Currently have 205/55/15. I think going to 50 series or 45 series will reduce sidewall deflection.

For autocross there are MINIs that are lowered with H-sport springs using 225/45-15 tires on 15x7" rims and about +35 to +38mm offset. You might PM BGarfield to confirm they don't rub. Your 15x6" rims isn't as good a fit for those tires and you'd decrease their contact patch by mounting them in anything less than a 7" wide rim.

With stock suspension it should not be a problem. I don't think there will be rubbing. Not so with 225/45-17, those will need cutting most times.

Were you going to use the 225/45-15 for street use or autocross/track?

Personally, I would go with the 205/50/15's like how Bisch has on his
Monza wheels and lower the ride. My tire of choice would
be the S03's. They're 205's but if you measure them, they are actually
more like 225 width shoulder to shoulder.
