Brake Ducts?
I just took the plunge.

The cost is a problem. IMHO there is no need for these to be made out of carbon fiber.

Track days are starting this week so I figured it would be a good idea to do a brake duct system. Ordered two 401s from this place. Cut them almost in half, a bit larger then half, and used the larger pieces for my ducts.
Bought six feet of 1.5" dia. pool hose from sears. Very smooth interior surface. Yea, small compared to the 3" standard brake cooling hose, but....
Drilled two 1.5" holes into the air damm. Ran the hose around the front chassis and down the lower A arm. Hose is blowing into the ball joint as I need to keep that cool also being that I use a BBK and can not fit the factory heat shield.
Works very well as the brakes feel much cooler to the touch after a brisk drive. Much cooler then the rears.
I had very soft race pads in the fronts and these ducks blew the dust out though the wheel and ended up all down the side of the car.
Changed to harder pads.

Behind the wheel looking forward

See you at the PP in Providence???
That looks great. I bought the same ducts when I went to Sebring from one of the trailer vendors. This Saturday I looked for the 40th time at where they would go (including the hose) and low and behold you got it nailed!!! Hope you are coming to the Providence pully party April 9-10 so we all can get a first hand look!
Onasled,
Excellent! Simple, effective and cheap! That $$ carbon fiber kit will disappoint after contact with pavement. On the other hand if they made it out of some kind of plastic/PU they could sell alot of them.
Friday PM, I stuck in the Tyrol caliper stiffners, Ferodo 2500s and ATE Blue for my upcoming DE day. Still not happy with the pedal feel. More bleeding.... Ducting will be next.
Off the subject but what day are you going to the Providence PP? Randy is booked solid so it looks like dyno time with the Unichip is not going to happen. BTW I have not gotten around to making any decisions about shocks/coilovers - I've been lurking but there has not been much new info posted.
Cheers,
