Keep in mind that SLIME has petroleum product in it, and it will soak into the rubber compound hindering the tire shop from being able to get a patch to properly adhere. Using SLIME can actually cost you money, between the previously stated fact, and sensors don't like it..

thanks for that info,I thought slime could be rinsed away with water, thus saving the sensor also.Plug would be my first choice in case of an on road flat.Believe me ,I dont like going spare less but needed to lose the runflats!!

I just switched off the stock runflats and went with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's (the V-rated variety). HUGE difference on ride quality and grippiness:
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3

I have a 2012 JCW Clubby, and was able to get the spare and all the accessories from MiniMania (they have a kit that includes the spare and mounting kit). They also have a separate, SINGLE 20mm spacer so the spare will actually work on the rear tires (you have to order this on the phone; they list the part # in the description for the spare. This is specific to the JCW or cars with the JCW brakes, since they have those monster calipers).

If you buy the replacement tool tray from them, know that everything from the car fits with the exception of the factory tow hook (not a huge deal).

Good luck!

I have a local independent tire shop that is family owned and run, I got 4 michelin 225/50R18 pilot super sports installed for a total out the door price of $600.

they will install a plug/patch for $10, this involves removing the tire from the rim, installing the plug/patch from the inside, remounting and balancing.

if the tire has been "slimed" the same repair starts at $100 and may go as high as $150 ... apparently some brands are harder to clean than others ... just a warning for those carrying a "slime" type product, including the mini branded product
