3rd set
Hi all. I live in Baltimore MD and I drive in all kinds of weather conditions. I have a 2010 clubman that came with Continental tires on it. They were ok on pavement and fantastic in bad weather. When they wore out I replaced them with yokohama tires, which were ok on pavement and horrible in bad weather. Those have worn out and I'm looking to hear from Mini Motorists what they like and don't like for their cars. I'm considering going back to the Continentals, or trying Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's that my local retailer has recommended.
C'mon Mini Nation. Let me hear from you today, as I need to make a decision soon.
Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Just saying "Continental" or "Yokohama" doesn't say much, as each company produces a wide range of tires, some better than others or better in specific conditions.
Having said that, I use Continentals (not run flats) for my street tires. Specifically the DW model which is a summer only tire, or the DWS which is an all season if you ever need to use them in light snow or freezing temperatures. Both are great in the wet, the DW grip more in the dry and both have very nice road manners.

As mentioned every tire company makes a wide range of tires in various tire classes. Lets look at specific tires.
Ultra High Performance All Season tires-
see

It's likely that you had-
Continental ExtremeContact DWS in 205/50-16, 205/55-16, 205/45-17 or 215/45-17. It's a good comfortable street tire what works in bad and cold weather.
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 vs Conti DWS on tirerack test-

The Pilot Sport A/S 3 handles better in wet or dry, but isn't as good in snow.
Voting for Michelin AS 3's… $570 out the door from Costco that is currently on sale right now. Comes with lifetime everything.
Previous 3 sets I had were Conti DWS'. First 2 were great… last set was sub par. Hydroplaned a lot and felt unsafe and made me switch to Mich AS3's. Had the Michs since December of '13 and performed great in our worst winter season in 4 years here in York/Baltimore/DC region.
Good luck!
